FCCA Member Artist Michael Verkholantsev

An Academic of Art and a living genius.
Line is everything - a brilliant formula invented by a living genius who has preserved an incredible drawing skill comparable to Leonardo Da Vinci. Michael Verkholantsev likes to say, ‘I am first and foremost a draughtsman.
All art, and even more - all civilization was created, figuratively speaking, with a pencil’
While still a student, listening to lectures on the History of Art, he discovered Mannerism. He fell in love with grotesques, furniture, painting, architecture, fine plastic arts and even the music of the era of Mannerism.
There was a remarkable century in the history of European art between the twenties of the 16th century and the early 17th century. It was the time of the youth of the Baroque style and the beginning of Mannerism. The pioneer of the new style was the famous Michelangelo Buonaroti. Next, the style was picked up by Leonardo da Vinci.
