What We Do
FCCA occupies a narrow niche in the art world, but we have selected a specific niche: the creation of haute couture artworks based on the verified artworks of a select group of artists who share our philosophy. The 30 years experience of the founder, Alex Sander, in luxury industry allows us to build such a unique workshop that makes it possible to produce and collect works of ancient techniques with the help of world-class masters. This is how the idea of the foundation was born: revival of ancient crafts to contemporary couture art. Stereotypes rule the world. One of them says that couture is always fashion. But this is not true. Our mission is to show this to the world.
Contemporary Couture Art Creation
We create Art based on original artworks in our studio, using expensive materials and the handmade by the best world-renowned craftsmen, thereby supporting the dying industry of ancient crafts. As a patron and collector, the foundation is building its unique collection and promoting the idea among artists around the world. The sale of these exceptional works is managed by our Alexander's Collection studio, with our office located in the heart of Hong Kong, where we oversee the entire process.

Currently, in collaboration with great masters of their craft, we selected to support ancient techniques of hand embroidery made of silk, silver and gold threads, as well as the ancient inlay technique with precious woods. However, mastering other techniques is not far off, and we strive to expand our range.
We Are Looking for Talents

It doesn't matter whether an artist is famous or unknown; the issue lies elsewhere. Today, many renowned galleries, especially those owned by major collectors, are closing down. Adam Lindermann, a New York-based gallerist and art collector, will close after 13 years. In his opinion, the classic art gallery business is becoming obsolete. Large art exhibitions do not promote new artists and work with well-known figures and galleries, imposing their own rules on them. Galleries are forced to comply with these requirements. This leads to stagnation, with galleries only working with artists selling well, sometimes ignoring quality and artistic execution.
How can talents break through in such a dictatorial situation? Among young and emerging artists, there are many talented people with their own unique vision.
We are looking for such talents and are ready to support them.
How we do it
Editorial Support

We plan regular publications in our Editorial section on a sponsorship basis, by inviting and selecting such talents ourselves or promote the Artis Calls in social media or direct mail. Uniqueness must be supported.
Artist Calls
Many editorial services promoting books for artists have flooded the internet and social networks with their offers. But what do they do for the artist - what is the value of all these publications? Often, they don't really care who to print in their group catalogs.
After studying a great deal of information on this topic, we came up with a fundamentally different approach. All our activities should be aimed at promoting the talents of a small group of selected artists whom we are ready to work with. Therefore, we have developed several
Social Support Programs
for the most efficient work with a selected group of only 25 people for each case.
Winners Special Support
To support this, FCCA assists in the creation of such artists' works, transforming them into unique pieces of art, made in ancient techniques in our studio using very expensive materials. The artistic content, complexity of production, and expensive materials, along with the manual labor involved, place these new works in the category of couture art, while significantly increasing the value of the artists' work and therefore price.
Of course, the foundation follows its own philosophy and aesthetics, which often run counter to the accepted stereotypes of the art market. But that is how it should be if we want to be innovators.
Social Support Programmes include:
Presentation of artists in special editions of the foundation in the section Young Talents
Gift editions of personal art books
Production of unique artworks of the winners in our workshops
Sales of artists' works made in ancient artistic crafts in the network of FCCA collectors
Advertising on social media and direct mailings to galleries on the list of the foundation
Organising exhibitions under the roof of the foundation
Participation in limited editions of the foundation (by invitation only)
Collaboration with Established Artists & Art Galleries
The world of art is ever-evolving, yet it often overlooks the beauty and craftsmanship of ancient techniques. This is where the Foundation dedicated to reviving these lost crafts shines. By collaborating with renowned artists and established galleries, the Foundation creates couture-level art objects that breathe new life into age-old skills. This innovative approach not only showcases the talents of contemporary artists but also emphasizes the importance of preserving cultural heritage.
The Foundation’s Mission
Established with a clear vision, the Foundation aims to revive ancient crafts at the highest levels. By engaging well-known artists and galleries, the Foundation emphasizes collaboration that is both charitable and impactful. Each partnership is thoughtfully planned, creating unique projects that serve the dual purpose of promoting the artists while supporting charitable causes.
At the heart of this initiative lies the transformation of existing artworks. Artists are invited to reinterpret their creations using time-honored embroidery techniques that involve luxurious materials such as silk, silver, gold threads, semi-precious stones, and pearls. This gives a fresh perspective to their original works while preserving the intricate craftsmanship that ancient cultures employed.
Importance of Collaborations with Artists and Galleries
Collaborations between the Foundation, established artists, and reputable galleries are vital for several reasons. Firstly, these juxtapositions enable artists to revisit their works while incorporating traditional techniques that have nearly been forgotten. By engaging with galleries, the Foundation gains access to a broader audience who appreciates and values art, thus maximizing visibility for these artists and the causes they support.
Furthermore, partnerships with galleries ensure the projects are marketed effectively. The galleries offer their platforms for showcasing these unique pieces, increasing the potential for successful sales and auctions. This benefits everyone involved, including emerging artists who are often included in these charitable efforts, allowing them to gain exposure and credibility in the art world.
Craftsmanship Excellence
Handcrafted items demand an unparalleled level of skill and dedication. The Foundation ensures that every piece is created in its workshops by world-class artisans known for their expertise in traditional methods. This commitment to quality guarantees that each finished workmanship not only tells a story but embodies a high level of artistic integrity.
Artisans painstakingly stitch with techniques that vary from one culture to another. Whether it's the elaborate stitching of silk threads or the setting of semi-precious stones, each item reflects countless hours of meticulous labor. Combining traditional crafts with contemporary artistic vision produces one-of-a-kind pieces that are both aesthetically stunning and meaningful.
In this process, the Foundation not only preserves ancient techniques but also creates opportunities for artisans to thrive financially. The result is a sustainable model that supports both craftsmanship and artistic innovation.
Unique Projects for Charitable Causes
The Foundation takes pride in developing unique projects for each collaborating artist. These initiatives adhere to a specific theme that enhances the outreach and relevance of the artwork created. Each piece is auctioned through international houses or sold privately, with proceeds directed towards charities supported by the collaborating artist or gallery.
For instance, an artist may choose to support education initiatives which nurture young talent, or a gallery may emphasize environmental conservation issues. By aligning the project’s goals with personal passions, the collaboration enriches the thematic depth of the artwork and aligns it closely with real-world issues.
Moreover, the integration of charitable causes into the collaborative framework ensures that the Foundation's mission resonates on a broader scale. The work does not merely serve an aesthetic purpose; it serves to inspire and uplift communities in need.
Why artists often prefer a charitable collaboration
A charity project can offer a famous artist significant advantages over a purely commercial deal, appealing to their artistic, personal, and public image interests.
Reputational and legacy benefits
-
Enhances public image: Associating with a charitable cause can soften a celebrity's image and demonstrate their commitment to social issues. This can generate positive media attention that is different and more meaningful than coverage for a commercial product.
-
Builds a positive legacy: For artists concerned with how their work and influence will be remembered, a philanthropic project offers a way to create a lasting, positive impact. They can be seen as using their fame for good rather than pure profit.
Creative control and freedom
-
Less restrictive: Commercial projects often come with strict brand guidelines, marketing requirements, and creative limitations. Charitable collaborations often provide the artist with more creative freedom to explore their work in new ways with less pressure to conform to a company's image.
-
Artistic exploration: The opportunity to experiment with a new, tactile medium like hand embroidery can be creatively stimulating for an artist who primarily works in two-dimensional paint. It is a chance to see their art reinterpreted and to be part of a high-craft project.
Personal fulfillment
-
Supports a personal cause: Famous artists, like anyone, have personal values and causes they care about deeply. An invitation to participate in a charitable project that aligns with their beliefs is often more personally compelling than a purely transactional offer.
-
Authentic engagement: A charity collaboration is generally perceived as more authentic and less performative than a commercial endorsement. This makes the project more personally rewarding and allows the artist to connect with their audience on a more human level.
Market differentiation
-
Creates a premium product: An artwork produced for charity is often one-of-a-kind or part of a small, limited edition. This exclusivity and the story behind its creation can make the piece highly valuable and prestigious, differentiating it from an artist's regular commercial output.
-
Tax benefits: Famous artists can often receive tax deductions for donating their work or services to a registered charity, which can be an additional incentive.
-
Legal protection for the artist and charity
While the relationship is collaborative, a formal, written agreement is essential for managing expectations and protecting both the artist and the charity. This protects against misunderstandings and potential legal issues.
-
Copyright and licensing: The agreement must clearly state how the charity can use the artist's work. It should specify the duration and scope of the license, ensuring the artist retains their intellectual property rights.
-
Roles and responsibilities: The contract should outline who is responsible for what, such as the production of the embroidery, marketing, and distribution.
-
Financial transparency: The agreement should clearly state what portion of the proceeds goes to the artist (if any) and the charity. Clear financial reporting is crucial for maintaining public trust.
Supporting Young Talent
One of the core missions of the Foundation is to support emerging artists. The collaboration between esteemed galleries and established artists also serves as a mentoring platform for young talent. By providing opportunities to work alongside experienced artisans, burgeoning artists gain invaluable knowledge regarding techniques, artistry, and the art market.
The Foundation organizes social projects that include workshops, exhibitions, and interactive sessions, aimed at boosting the skills of young artists while exposing them to real-world scenarios within the art community. Such initiatives help in bridging the gap between traditional artistry and contemporary practices, cultivating a generation that remains connected to its rich cultural roots.
The positive impact of these endeavors is two-fold. Not only are traditional crafts preserved, but young artists are also empowered and given an entry point into an industry that can often seem daunting.
The collaboration between the Foundation, established artists, and galleries not only showcases the talents of contemporary creators but also emphasizes the importance of preserving cultural heritage. By joining hands, we can continue to create opportunities that celebrate art in its most refined forms while supporting meaningful causes that impact society positively.
